Numbers were up for Hash 1414, held at the Camping Site in the Wadi Digla Protectorate. Your scribe was one of the Hares on this, the last Hareing for Good In Bed and Puss In Boots, as they’re off to Mumbai, formerly known as Bombay, soon. It was also Puss In Boots’ last turnout for the Hash pool team at the ACE Club on Wednesday and yes, we won! Your scribe was with the walkers and we’d set a challenging trail on the south side of the wadi. We crossed the valley and headed up the southern cliffs to the first cheque on top. It was a bit windy and had cooled down a tad by now. From there, everyone swallowed the falsie along the cliff tops going eastwards and then the back checc halfway up a steep hill. If a back Czech counts as half a Czech, then that’s 1.5 Czechs.

After the back checc, we veered westwards and it wasn’t far to the second chekk, a little higher up. Then everyone fell for one of the two falsies off this cheque, before we headed in a semicircular direction across some stony stuff to the third checc, from where there was an FT towards the cliffs and home. Everyone fell for the falsie, deftly organised by Rock Star, and then we walked southwest towards the cliffs and descended off one we’ve never descended before, hitting the cliffs below that we’d come up earlier. From there, we walked back to the RV. The walk took about 1 hr 20 mins, while the FRBs caught us in the wadi. There was a total of 4.5 cheques on the walking trail today, reflecting the fact that Puss In Boots has spent the past 4.5 years in Egg Wiped.

Gorillas kicks off the Circle, punishing the Hares, as well as visitors Jorg and Mirelle, who works for Al-Ahram Beverages. Next, it’s Ruth Jackson, a new Hare today, who’s a geophysicist. After that, it’s Jorg and Mirelle again, as well as all the other visitors: Anne Murphy, Ala, Mirel’s two cousins Mark and Michael, John, Innes, Chris, Tim et al.
