Hash 1437 saw us in Wadi Digla Protectorate, not far in on the left, shortly after the broken-down building site. It was at the earlier time of 2pm and numbers were well up, swollen by oodles of visitors. Your scribe was with the runners, as we headed east down the wadi then up the southern cliffs, just shy of the first right-hand Protectorate RV. Czech one was on the top, with the walkers not far behind. There was an FT, before we veered eastwards to the nearby second cheqq, while Tommy hit another falsie going eastwards near the cliffs. After another back cheque, we reached another checc, before an additional falsie up a hill to the south. The real trail took us back to the cliffs and then there was a fourth and final cheq, before we continued west along the cliff tops, hitting the walkers' trail, and then coming down near the entrance to the wadi. In fact, your scribe and Frank took that dangerous scramble down the cliff opposite the broken-down building. In any case, we all jogged eastwards back to the RV. The run took 1 hour 15 mins; the walk about an hour. It was beautiful weather today, ideal in fact for the last barbecue of 2007.

The Dude gets the show on the road, punishing the Hares, as well as Illegal Entry (the run was great) and Jesse (the run was very pleasant), followed by all those visitors: Gohar (who has kindly offered to sponsor the Rehydration run); Ben; Gordon from New Jersey; Olga (a freight-forwarding executive from Russia with love); Michael (a civil engineer); Carey; Hannah; Megan; Ryan; Steve (ex-Trinidad Hash); Amy; Ross; Ewan; Ellen; Collum (a schoolboy who likes footie); John (ex-Trinidad Hash); Sandra; Laura; Svenga; Scott (working at the AUC's Desert Development Centre); and Chelsea, his habeeba from Santiago. Over to Tommy, who invites Frank with the cool BSA motorbike, our maverick Erect Runner and our fragrant desert flower, Should've Been Blonde, to indulge in sherbets. Frank imbibes again for drinking with his hat on, and he's in the good company of Jessie, the Belgian Consul, Hala, Should've Been Blonde and lots of visitors, for not wearing Hash Tea shirts. Jan and Lotfi get in the act too, while Alpha B leads us in 'We're up in the Morning'.

Useless, Toby, two visiting dudes and three fabulous visiting dudettes (Selya, Christina and Chelsea) are now in trouble for not signing in, before Put In Out gets a fantastic 25 run badge, being joined by Olga's mum, as well as Sean and Christina, whose birthdays occur at about this time. Uncle Wes, Herr und Frau Hund, our three dog owners, are provide with refreshments next, after whom those kindhearted Hashers who've provided salads for the BBQ are thanked: Frank, Mike and wife; Venom Sucker, Lotfi, Elizabeth et al. Lofti and Frank partake of more of the glorious nectar for drinking out of their right hands. Over to Mr Dog, who calls up Gorillas, who's leaving us for the sunny climes of Ghana. Bad All The Time and Boot Strap are furnished with down-downs too, along with Frank, who's sad that Tommy is leaving us. Hoare House Hotel also gets punished and Lotfi again. And now for something very important: we name Tobias, a structural engineer who used to work in Perth and is currently building the new Saudi Embassy between the Nile Corniche and the Cairo Zoo in Giza, Incomplete, a great name thought up by Bad All The Time.
