We were outside the entrance to the Protectorate for Hash 1462, which kicked off at the later time of 3pm. There were Russian and Egyptian Hares today, in honour of President Mubarak's visit to Moscow. The walkers' trail went through the entrance into the Wadi, so they had to pay the LE5 entrance fee, while Useless took the 19 runners around the entrance and up the southern cliffs, so they avoided having to stump up any wonga. It was windy, cloudy and warm as we blasted our way eastwards along the cliff tops. The first Czech had been obliterated - a light brown Peugeot, parked nearby on top, may hold the key to the mystery. Shortly before the missing first cheque, Mike the teacher and his wife turned back, as she was suffering from tummy trouble. We carried on east and then down onto the wadi floor at the first RV on the right as you drive into the wadi, shortly before the Amphitheatre Site and, indeed, where the RV was last week.

We then turned west and the second cheqq was nearby, with the FRBs wisely deciding not to wait hours for slow coaches like your scribe. From there we carried on westwards, reaching the little broken-down hut. After that there was a choice: a short trail back to the gate or the long one (popular with actresses) up the northern cliffs, then turning west after a checc on top, running out of the wadi and above it, before coming down to earth behind the GUPCO depot and returning to the RV. Needless to say, your scribe took the short cut. The run took 1 hour, the walk 1 hour 10 mins.

The Circular Shout Up

Back at the Circle, the mist made the sun look like the moon, while Easy Rider's pug dog was wandering round with a cute little hat on. Spoilt Little Bratwurst launches the Circle, punishing the visitors whom we sing 'We Could've Seen the Pyramids'. Their identitities can be revealed as Floura from Milan; Hans from the former West Germany; Julia his glamorous Sudanese wife; Irene, a Russian from Ukraine and not the Siberian Sex Bomb; Lena from the Ukraine; Elia from the Ukraine; and a New Mexican dude called Greg. They are followed by the Hares, who are given a blast of 'Why were they Born?', while the GM describes the walk as good and the run as krapp. Meanwhile, Venom Sucker, Jim McCormick and Joel all receive d-ds, as they are apparently lost in the desert. They are joined by the Hares, all of whom (apart from Useless) circled the number of Hares they have done. Then Stuart gets refreshments for driving to the Hash in the front passenger seat of his car, after which our stand-in RA, Mister Dog, moves into action. He invites a visitor we'd overlooked to indulge in sherbet, namely Maggie Chan from Hong Kong, who works with Hot Air and Bob. They drink with her.

And now Mrs Dog takes the helm, inviting people who have birthdays about this time to step forward - Pussies Galore (already gawn), Sleazy Rider and Venom Sucker. Meanwhile, a Ukrainian dude called Elia, sporting a cool 'Mini' car Tea-shirt, gets to drink a bevy with a bevy of a different sort - lots of drop-dead gorgeous Hashettes from a bundle of countries, namely, the Siberian Sex Bomb from the Ukraine; Three Dogs F***ing from Germany; Nikki from Japan; an Australian lass; Maggie from Hong Kong; Moira from Scotland; Loura from Italy; and a Dutch beauty. They also tell us how they chat up men. Then a bundle of dudes tell us how to chat up the totty - Scottish Michael; Pim from Holland (not the psychological psychiatrist); Nabil from the Lebanon and France; an American dude; Mike Cogan, also from the USA; and citizen Wing Nut.

Thanks to Augustin and Doc Sameh for helping with the beer, with the profits on beer sales this week going to Spreads Easily's charity bike ride, as do the profits from her book sale on the sidelines of today's Hash. At this point, Hugh J. Nuss gets the raffle underway, with Spreads Easily drawing Mister Dog (opts for the red wine) and Spoilt Little Brat (selects the Jim Beam). Over to Maggie, who selects Easy Rider (lunges for the water holder) and Hot Radish (the chair). Meanwhile, Three F***ing Dogs extracts Nabil (grabs more red wine), before Comes Quietly extrapolates Hot Radish again (zeroes in on the white wine) and Once Is Not Enough (confiscates the rosé). Lena draws Martin (more red wine) and F***ing Three Dogs (the exercise mat), after whom Nikki pulls Spoilt Little Brat (gallantly demands a redraw), Nabil (gallantly demands a redraw) and Comes Quietly, who picks up more rosé. Finally, Mister Dog invites those Hares for Hash 1463 who are present to step forward - The Duke, Spoilt Little Brat and Spreads Easily. They are joined by Moira, before Herr und Frau Hund remind us about the Moon Beach Away Hash and Hot Air leads us in 'Schwing Lowe'. On-on at the Red Onion. On-On!!
