The Trail

We were in the Wadi Digla Protectorate for Hash 1466, at the first RV on the right, at the later time of 4pm, the clocks having gone forward. There were three new Hares involved in this week's event. Numbers were down, due to the holiday weekend. It was jolly pleasant weather what, as both walkers and runners headed up the southern cliffs. Your scribe was with the runners, as we paused for the first Czech on top. We then dashed further south across the plain, towards the bigger hills, but soon turned right into the sun, before turning right again up a small hill, arriving back at the cliff tops for the second cheque. We then turned east, hitting the third checc about five minutes later, from where we descended to the cars, all of us that is except for the adventurous Tit For Tat and Doctor Bassem, who pressed on further east, eventually connecting and descending with the walkers. The run took 40 mins, the walk 45 mins.

Hugh J. Nuss leaps into the fray, punishing the Hares, for whom we sing 'Why were they Born?', followed by this week's visitors, namely three Egyptian stunners - Manal, Imani and Hannan - and David, an American dude studying at the AUC. Next it was David again and another dude, for forgetting to change their clocks last night, along with Doc Sameh and Mohamed (welcome back), as well as Rick (groovy tattoos) and the Siberian Sex Bomb. Further sherbets are distributed to Comes Quietly, Sheikh Geek, Claire, Anne-Marie (a keen golfer) and Doc Einstella, for whom we sing 'We're the Hash House Harriers'. And now over to Uncle Rossiter, who invites serious runners Tit For Tat, Pussy Wig, Dave and Renate to indulge in brewskis, to the dulcet tones of 'What a Spank'. After that, he calls up Alpha B, whom he spotted wearing an elegant French-style floral dress yesterday, and the glamorous Athletic Supporter, who looks very Parisienne, messieurs. Then it's Alpha B cncore for being a creative writer and Monsieur Dog, for whom we sing 'We're up in the Morning'.

Meanwhile, Renate drinks again, being accompanied by German Hala, as they are both strong swimmers. We give these beauties a blast of the 'Yogi Bear' song. It's now time for Athletic Supporter to muscle her way into proceedings, calling on today's non-signers-inners to quaff sherbet: Bad Lay, Cucking Funt, Useless, Natasha from Texas and Amber from Seattle. And we are reminded about the names that need to be coined today for Renate (who hails from Hamburg, teaches sports and arts, has four babies and enjoys gymnastics), Christian (who was born in Spandau and has much experience of construction and the demolition of rodents and insects) and Keilan (a young Irishman born in Scotland, who's ten years old, supports Rangers and sings in the shower). While we contemplate suitable Handles, Bad Lay invites all fathers present to have a brew, after which he asks Useless and Paul to have a bevy too, with Paul getting the Pisser (and Rose comes to the rescue, helping him drink it).

Before the namings, Hugh J. Nuss get Inhee to kick off the raffle. And firstly she pulls your scribe's raffle ticket - no. 336 - and he pounces on the case of Saqqara! Next, Arn the Dutchman wins a drinks bag with beer in and Hannan extracts Mister Dog, who wins another of the same! So now the namings: Renate will forever and always on this and every other Hash be known as the Hamburg Sex Bomb. She and the Siberian Sex Bomb have much in common: double sex bombs. We sing her 'Why was she Born?', after which Cream Off comes up with a fantastic monicker for Christian: Hermann the Vermin. And then it's Cream Off again, dreaming up the quite superb name Irish Missed for Keilan. Cream Off gets a well-deserved Pisser, while Inhee joins him too. Now it's time for more raffling, with Bay Watch Babe extrapolating The Lion Farted (scoops the Tia Maria), Claire (another of the bags with beer in), Rose (a picture frame), Ahmed (the Martini), Paul (the Malibu) and Arn (another bag with beer in)!

Meanwhile, Manal extracts Athletic Supporter, who wins the fireplace utensils! She had kindly donated them herself, so she gallantly demands a redraw and Easy Ride Herr grabs the poker, brush and shovel! And finally Baywatch, Sleazy Ride Herr and Claire do the gallant thing by offering to make salads for Hash 1467, which will be followed by a BBQ. So that was that. As Mary-Fran passed round delicious liqueur chocolates to celebrate Coptic Easter, we got ready to head back to Maadi and hit the ACE for the On-On. On-On!!
