We were in Wadi Hof near the solitary tree for Hash 1478. Shock horror - the cave next to it has had its entrance filled in with rocks large and small. As it was Titty Tattoo's second-to-last Hash, Comes In Threes had commissioned splendid Tea shirts for the Hares to commemorate the occasion. Last week, your scribe headed down to Beni Suef to visit former Cairo Hashers San Francisco Treat and Green Card, which meant he missed the fabulous wine and cheese party at the Picnic Site. Your scribe was with the walkers, while the runners headed off in the direction the walkers took last time we were here, about three months ago. We walkers headed into the sun then up the hill on the right - up, up and up in fact to the first checq on the very top. There was quarrying in progress in the beautiful wadi to our left as we ascended. We were quite high up and we could just see the pylons in 15^th May City. It was hot, but not too hot. We then headed east to the second Czech with the beer cheque visible down in the wide wadi to the east of the cars. From there it was some scary stony stuff up and down, with a dearth of lentils, but was survived the challenging, hitting the valley and turning east to the drinks cheque, where we enjoyed water, Spritze and beer. It was a little cooler and breezier by now. We then wandered back to the cars. Both trails took about 1.5 hours this week. Thank-you Wesley for providing the drinks check.

Hugh J. Nuss kicks the Circle into gear, punishing the Hares, while Yasmin and Catherine help out on the beer-pouring front, after which we welcome this week's newcomers: Faisal from Germany, a 25-year-old Panzer salesman; Olivier, aged 28, who sells Austin Martens; and Sunna from Japan, a purveyor of energy drinks. We give them a blast of 'We Could've Seen the Pyramids'. Now it's over to Athletic Supporter, who presents Rock Star (Estelle) with her leaver's mug, having come back all the way from Paris to bid us au revoir. M-F then calls on a whole bundle of non-signers-inners to indulge in refreshments: Black and Pepper, Lou Borough Qunt, Marie-Louise, Should've Been Blonde, Squashed Balls, Comes In Threes, Useless (!), Cucking Funt and Comes Quietly. They are followd by veteran Hasher Erect Runner and Athletic Supporter, with ER complaining about not having to sign in at the drinks cheque. Next, it's our senior statesman, Hot Air, who had to ask for directions to this week's Hash, even though he's done nearly 750 runs with Cairo Hash! He's joined by ER again, who announces the Rehydration Hash in early November, with ex-GM Hot Air helping to find sponsors, while other former GMs also present are given beverages: Trevor, Chalky and Flora's husband.

Trevor is punished again for drinking out of his right hand, while Flora and family also down brewskis, being from Kenya too, with Flora singing us the 'Ricky Ticky Tomba' song. Over to Can't Make Her Come, who invites Lou Borough Qunt, Faisal (already gone) and Joerg to have d-ds for saying funny things today, along with Hugh J. Nuss, whose dog did wee wee. It's now time for those present whose birthdays occur at this time to step forward - Should've Been Blonde, Werner (not Kafka) and Caherine - after whom Tit For Tat picks up a fabulous 20-Hare mug, while Malcolm and Werner (not Kafka) join her for never having Hared. We give them a blast of the 'Zumba' song, after which our dynamic RA, Bad Lay, drinks out of his committee leaver's salver and he's soon to leave us for good. We sing him 'Phoqq Oph U Qunt', before presenting him with a splendid leaver's mug too, while Comes Quietly, Sooner Rather Than Later, Charlotte, Easy Ride Hare, Maaike (not Soft-G Spot) and Yasmine keep him company. Meanwhile, The Dude, Should've Been Blonde, Flora's daughter and Lou Borough Qunt are asked to tell us who's responsible for the fresh dog's bob on the trail. Lou Borough Qunt puts her hand up to it.

Finally, we sing a song about Australians for Can't Make Her Come and Cream Offski, who've gallantly volunteered to set Hash 1479, before Trevor and Easy Ride Hare round things off with 'Schwing Lowe'. We then headed home, with many Hashers attending the On-On at Dragon House. On-On!!
