We were in Wadi Digla for Hash 1483, at the first RV on the right, near the recently planted tree. Unusually, we began with a couple of down-downs for Wayne (for wearing a pink shirt like the old Hare Tea shirts) and the RA, for spying on the Hares this morning. Anyway, off we went, with you scribe heading west with the runners down the wadi, on one of Erect Runner's ingenious trails. Soon we were doubling back past some flour from a previous run, before having a Harey old scramble up the northern cliffs. We scuttled westwards along the cliff top for a little while, then headed inland to the first tchecq. After a couple of falsies, we ran back to the cliffs further east and scrambled down onto the valley floor, where we had the second cheque. It was at this point that Marguerite, a very pleasant young lady from the Sudan, was getting a little tired and, rather than carry on up the southern cliffs with the rest of the runners, your scribe escorted her back west along the valley floor to the RV. Meanwhile, the diehard runners would have another big loop on top of the southern cliffs, as well as a third Czech, coming back down into the valley by the amphitheatre behind us. They took 1 hour 30 mins; the walk was less than an hour.

Hugh J. Nuss kicks the Circle into gear, punishing the Hares and then the newcomers - Keith from Stockport and Olaf from Sweden, as well as the two Sudanese beauties, Marguerite and Rebecca, who was running very well today. As Should've Been Blonde lends a hand on the beer-pouring front, Hot Air is called up for a down-down, having generously donated three boxes of interesting Hash Tea shirts from all around the world to today's raffle with lots of prizes. After that, we sing the 'Countdown' song for Sarah and Julie (who last night asked a cabbie to take them to a bar but he failed in his mission), Wayne and Doc Livingstone. They are followed by Wagaphour and Joan, before Useless, this week's stand-in Hash list, steps forward and punishes all the non-signers-inners: himself (!), Should've Been Blonde, Alain and Bad Bob. He then calls up Can’t Make Her Come, whose birthday it is next week.

Can’t Make Her Come himself now takes over, hauling out Doc Livingstone and Joan for cohorting on the Hash, and then inviting three Hashers who are very fond of baccy (and of Bacchus for that matter), to partake of the golden Sakkara from this week's nice d-d cups - the Hamburg Sex Bomb, Easy Ride Hare and Alain. The last-mentioned is then invited to partake of more refreshments for that large hole in the back of his shorts, along with Useless who grasses up the Hamburg Sex Bomb for using her mobile on the run today. She too indulges in more sherbet. We sing them, 'They ought to be publicly pissed on'. Over to The Dude, who, in true Olympic fashion, hauls up Hashers representing lots of different nationalities - Rita, Bassem (not Hare Brain), Watch Me Strut My Furry Thing, Bosoms From Brussels, Heinz, Austrian Werner, Can't Make Her Come, Wagaphour, Julie, Marcie, Lou Borough Qunt, Black End Popper and Olaf. Bobby leads us in 'In der Schule', while Fatso threatens to jump off the cliff above the beer pourers.

Lou Borough Qunt and Black End Popper are called up again, to say thank you to them for having bought a splendid beer-pouring table. Back to the RA, who invites anyone who hasn't had a d-d to have one - James, Michael and Sarah - although Sarah had indeed had one. Hugh J. Nuss rounds off the Circle with the raffle. Rita extracts Heinz (goes for a case of Sakkara) and then there are books for Bosoms, while Hot Air picks up the second case of Sakkara, our having failed to prevail on him to take one of the boxes of Tea shirts himself. Marie is also selected (grabs the cool box) and Olaf (opts for one of the boxes of Tea shirts). And now Watch Me Strut My Furry Thing pulls Sarah (takes the second box of Tea shirts) and Should've Been Blonde (a container full of washing up liquid, shaped like a Ramadan lantern). The raffling continues with Lee-Anne extrapolating Marcie (selects the scissors), Heinz again (the spanner), Austrian Werner (the third box of Tea shirts), Alain (the second container full of washing up liquid, shaped like a Ramadan lantern), Stewbie (the third container full of washing up liquid, shaped like a Ramadan lantern) and finally Austrian Werner again, an empty Coke bottle. So that was that and folk headed back to the Gaya restaurant for the On-On. On-On!!
