We were at City View, a smart residential complex, on the left of the early part of the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, for Hash 1491. The RV was on the grass beside the swimming pool, most of whose water has evaporated since our last Hash here in July last years, in the compound where Shouldve Been Blonde resides, with a very nice view back towards the Giza Pyramids. The building we walked through to reach the swimming pool and lawn is still in the same state of construction as it was in the summer of 2007, when Barbies Squashed Balls got named Barbies Squashed Balls here. Your scribe was with the runners as we walked back out of the still-under-construction building and turned right along the road and then right again, passing between two mosques and heading down the very steep track. We thad a very early cheque and turned right with the wall around the swimming pool and lawn on our right. We then turned right yet again and uphill over more tricky stuff, till we hit the road again, and turned left, following in the footsteps of the walkers whod gone that way. We passed the Pyramids Hills’ complex on our left, before turning right under the pylons, soon reaching the second Czech, with the walkers just ahead of us at their first chekk. From there we continued running into the sun and weaving between demarcated plots, where, presumably, new compounds are going to be built, until we reached the third checc. We then basically headed back to base. The run took the fit guys just under 45 minutes, but slow coaches like your scribe took longer. The walk too an hour. As we runners relaxed with a beer, we could see the walkers still strolling round the estate.

Hugh J. Nuss kicks the Circle into action, punishing the Hares and then the newcomers Ihab (a student); Eleen, a teacher; Tina, from Hangover, er Hanover; Bassy from Finland; Karen (from Cape Town and teaching at (EBIS); Sabina (a housewife); John; Sunandi and Arnie (Inekes mum and dad I now know where she gets her good looks from); Lea from Germany; and Hooker, the German Military Attaché. Over to Useless, the stand-in Hash List, who invites those Hashers whose birthdays fall at about this time to get stuck into refreshments Carolyn, Sue, 1900 Sheep Dater and Inhee. Then the non-signers-inners get punished: The Dude, circled Paid, Useless (!) and R-Hole, who didnt sign in or out. And now for something very important: the resilient Cucking Funt picks up a fab 75-run Tea shirt! We sing him 'What an F'. R-Hole takes the helm, spontaneously telling all those young ladies sitting on the grass in the Circle to stand up. They - Castrati, the Siberian Sex Bomb, Valentina, Inhee and Carolyn - all received down-downs, along with some other dolls and a dude.

R-Hole then invites heavy drinkers Easy Ride Herr and Tina to have a d-d for missing the downtown pub crawl he organised last night. R-Hole gets a brewski after them, on account of the great night everyone had. They are followed by Hot Air, Lars, Regina and another doll for not wearing Hash Tea shirts, before five worthy Hashers are shortlisted for the Prick of the Week award: Easy Ride Herr, Austrian Werner, Rudie (cool, loud, pink Bangkok Hash Tea shirt), Three Dogs and the Siberian Sex Bomb. And Three Dogs is selected on the cheer, so we serenade her with 'What a Spank', while our beer-pouring specialist Lou Borough Qunt joins her for a celebratory gargle. R-Hole then announces the Hash Ball on Thursday night, while we name Ursula Fed Sechs and her son, Cedric, Zighda Man. Night was approaching and some us had kickaround with a leather football on the grass - Fabio Capello should have sent the scouts. After that, some folk headed to the 'On-On' at the 19^th Hole in Giza, while other folk made their way straight home. On-On!!
