Some people had to work on 6/2/9, including EZRideHerr, who therefore
missed Megan Moran (who works for Operation Smile) getting named Car Phoqa
for her first Hare at a crazy Hash in Wadi Digla. And then on 13/2/9 we had a large crowd
the Valentine¡¯s Day bash in
the Protectorate(everyone was red, including their noses). Bluesky, warm, no clouds, 27 degrees C: it was berfect! We had lots of virgins

After welcoming all newcomers, Captain Wesley
asked for a moment of respect for the Hash founder Alberto
Stephano Ignatius Gisbert, a British expat, known as ¡®G¡¯ to his friends who started the Hash (and so zee big World Hash Family) in 1938 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It all kicked off one
Saturday after an indulgent party where too much shandy was imbibed at the Selangor Club one Friday night, when Gis decided to recover with a bit of a run round the sports
field. It soon snowballed with the addition of dynamic dudes like Cecil Lee, ¡®Horse¡¯ Thomson, ¡®Torch¡¯ Bennett, Eric Galvin and later
Philip Wickens. Anyway,
the run today, 71 years later, started at 2pm. It was hilly and flat, and everybody
loved it. Same with the walk: flat and hilly and funny, not too many dead ends which might have slowed down
those FRBs a wee bit.
The Circular Circle
The first DDs for today went to the shortcutters¡¯ club:all those from Suomi (Finlandia), Lion Fart
(Richard Strongman) and his wife Claire,
Ineka, Yvette, the daughter and wife of Mounir (the Pasha from Jordan), Mona, Little Mohamed and Swiss Miss Ursel. After that Eddy
from Nigeria and all the shortcutters got a DD with: "Why were they born so
beautifull (full!)?"The lazy non-in-signers followed then with a
big cold DD: Amira, Gregor, Kuli Jan, Eileen Ding and Joelle. We also honoured Commodore Hubbard for his 70th Hare with a cold bottle of Finnish vodka and a DD with a big glass of this
thirst-quenching,
deliciously refreshing spirit. Our friend and beermaster Gerhart had his 25th
CH3 today and got a big DD as well: "They are Hashers they are blue, they are bissbotts through and through...".After that we had the naming of the charmante Yvette (eighth Hash today) from Holland who works in Maadi
as a therapist and who likes sports, movies, the Hash. The proposals for her name included:Always
Drives Drunk;Dutch Camel;Rapes One Out(!!);Drunk Rider;Rub It In;Camel Rower;Great Pans;Pink Flower;Slimy Hand;Two
LipsTherapy;Frau Antje From Holland;Pink Couch Potato;Short CircuitOr Hits The Thumbs;Low Lands Riders;Ride Hopper;andSleeping Spoke.AndTwo LipsTherapygets it and, as she¡¯sbaptised, Yvette enjoyed on a big DD with a cold Sakkara beer!

danced and sang. All the kiddies got refreshments
too. Lots more songs before the Circle closed and some folk went to the On-On at the Rugby Club, where there was a tasty chickencurry buffet. A wonderful end to a
